Abstract Submission Guidelines For Oral & Poster Presentation

We are cordially invite you to submit your abstract(s) for the 20th Meeting of the Asian Society of Paediatric Anaesthesiologists (ASPA 2024) & 3rd Malaysian Society of Paediatric Anaesthesiologists Meeting (PAM) to be held from 11 to 14 July 2024 at the Borneo Convention Centre, Kuching, Sarawak.

Abstract(s) submission for oral and poster presentation must be submitted via the online portal provided.


Abstract Preparation

  1. Abstract must be in English, typed in Microsoft Word, Times News Roman font size of 12.
  2. The title should be in capital letters and bold print. Do not centralise.
  3. The authors' family names in full, name in initials, their institutions, cities and countries should be listed immediately beneath the abstract title, typed in upper and lower case and single-spaced without using full-stops. The presenter's name is to be underlined.
  4. The text of the abstract must include section headings such as "Background", "Objectives", "Materials and Methods", "Results" and "Conclusion". The section headings should appear in bold.
  5. Potential conflict of interest must be disclosed in the presentation.
  6. For research with human subjects, the author should mention if approval from institutional ethical review committee was obtained
  7. Text must not exceed 300 words. Bar charts, graphs and tables are not allowed. Abbreviations, acronyms and symbols should be defined clearly if this is used for the first time. Place the abbreviation in parentheses after the full word.
  8. Use generic names of drugs.
  9. Presenter must indicate clearly the preferred choice of submission: Oral and/or Poster presentation.
  10. The Presenter must select only ONE category when submitting the abstract.
  11. Each presenter can submit up to a maximum of 2 sets of abstracts
  12. The acceptance of abstract is subject to the full payment of conference registration fee no later than 20 May 2024 or the abstract will be removed and will be rejected for presentation at ASPA 2024.

PREPARATION FOR ORAL PRESENTATION REQUIREMENTS


  1. Presentation should be prepared in the aspect ratio of 16 x 9 (Powerpoint presentation). Other presentation formats are also acceptable, however there may be a black bar on either side or above and/or below the presentation.
  2. Time allocated with be 8 minutes presentation and 2 minutes for Q & A session
  3. Abstract(s) submitted for oral presentation may be re-allocated for poster presentation, at the Organiser's discretion.
  4. Each primary author may only give one oral presentation. Additional submissions may be eligible for poster presentation.
  5. If the said primary author has co-authors, a secondary author may present an accepted submission. This is provided the secondary author is also a registered delegate to the congress.
  6. The Committee's decision is final.

PREPARATION FOR POSTER PRESENTATION REQUIREMENTS


Preparation of E-Poster

All e-posters should be prepared in English.


Layout: Portrait (vertical orientation)
Pixels: Minimum recommended size (format W x H) is 1125 x 2000px and maximum is 2250 x 4000px.
In inches/cm: 18"/45.72cm width and 32"/81.28cm height
Format: 9:16
Minimum Font Size: 10pt
DPI: 300 pixels/inch
File Size: Maximum file size without the video is 5MB, including the video is 40MB.
File Format: PDF (.pdf)
Media: Images/photos, graphs and tables can be included in the e-poster.

  1. Posters will be displayed throughout the Conference. The poster(s) should be removed within the stipulated time.
  2. Poster presentation (stand by poster) will be required for each presenter. Notification will be sent out to the respective presenter.
  3. Authors are fully responsible for display and removal of their posters at the respective locations. The Organising Committee will not be liable for any loss or damage to the posters during the display.
  4. When preparing text and illustrations, bear in mind that the posters will be viewed from a distance of about 1 m.
  5. The Committee's decision is final.
